I wrote this poem as dedication to the immortal spirit of the brave Assyrian fighter, Sennacherib Moshe, who fell as a martyr whilst defending his people against ISIS attacks. Only days prior to his passing he wrote the following on his Facebook account: Everyman shall become a mere memory one day... My only wish is for me to turn into a beautiful memory in your hearts. N. Rabi Odisho has been teaching Assyrian language, as mother tongue, in the Swedish official schools in the town of Jönköping since 1998 until he retired few years ago. Rabi Ashor is sharing his experiences with us in this interview. His son, the talented young man, Ninos Odicho, is studying at the university, and he will obtain his bachelor’s degree this summer. Ninos does read and write Assyrian, and he can speak it in a very good level.
